Installing demo content on your website: easy steps to follow

Set Listivo up on a fresh WordPress site: upload the theme, install the plugins it needs, and import one of the ready-made demos so you start from a complete website instead of a blank one.

This article walks you through installing the Listivo theme and importing demo content on your website.

The whole process on video, from uploading the theme to running the demo importer.
Download the installable file, not the full package
On the ThemeForest downloads page choose Installable WordPress file only. If WordPress refuses the upload, see How to Fix: I cannot upload Listivo theme to my WordPress.

Install and activate the theme

  1. 1 Download the theme file

Download the Listivo Installable WordPress file only from https://themeforest.net/downloads.

  2. 2 Log in to WordPress

Sign in to your WordPress admin panel (wp-admin).

  3. 3 Open Appearance → Themes

In the left sidebar, hover over Appearance and click Themes.

WordPress admin sidebar with the Appearance submenu open — Themes, Customize, Widgets, Menus, Envato Theme Check, Theme Editor — and an arrow pointing to Themes.
  4. 4 Click Add New

On the Themes screen, click Add New next to the heading.

The Themes screen header showing the theme count and the Add New button, with an arrow pointing at the button.
  5. 5 Upload the theme ZIP

Click Upload Theme, then Choose File, pick the listivo.zip file you downloaded, and click Install Now.

The theme upload panel: "If you have a theme in a .zip format, you may install or update it by uploading it here", with listivo.zip chosen next to Choose File and the Install Now button on the right.
  6. 6 Activate the theme

When the installer reports that the theme was installed successfully, click Activate.

Installer output reading "Installing theme from uploaded file: listivo.zip — Unpacking the package, Installing the theme, Theme installed successfully", with an arrow pointing to the Activate link.
  7. 7 Begin installing plugins

WordPress then shows a notice in the administration panel listing the plugins Listivo needs. Click Begin installing plugins.

Admin notice: the theme requires Contact Form 7, Elementor and Listivo Core, and recommends MC4WP, followed by the links Begin installing plugins and Dismiss this notice.
The bundled plugin installer with Contact Form 7, Elementor, Listivo Core and MC4WP all ticked, and the bulk actions menu open on Install next to the Apply button.
Tick the checkbox in the header row to select every plugin at once.

Install the plugins and import a demo

A demo import replaces your current content
The importer warns that importing the demo will remove all current data. Run it on a fresh WordPress install, or create a backup first if the site already holds content you want to keep.
  1. 1 Install and activate all recommended plugins

Select every plugin in the list, run the Install bulk action, then activate them the same way.

The plugin list with all plugins selected and Install chosen in the bulk actions menu, next to the Apply button.
  2. 2 Import a demo

You are then redirected to the demo importer. Before you start developing your website, import the Listivo demo content — homepages, pages, custom fields and so on — to streamline the process. Click the Demo Importer link in the sidebar and the Import button next to the demo you wish to import.

The Listivo Demo Importer page in wp-admin: a grid of demo previews (Demo Modern, Demo Classic, Demo Abstract, Demo Automotive, Demo Real Estate, Demo Realtor), each with an Import button; arrows point to the Demo Import link in the sidebar and to the Import button on Demo Modern.

The demo content will begin loading; please wait.

The Listivo Demo Importer mid-run: a spinner and 2% progress under the notices "Importing the demo will remove all current data" and "In case of any problems, please contact us".

Upon completion of the import, you will be redirected to the Listivo Panel — the theme's own settings screen.

The Listivo Panel on the Basic tab: Logo Default and Logo Reversed uploads with Set Logo buttons, a Homepage selector, and Public Email, Public Phone and Public Address fields.
