Sold / Pending / Active option

Give your listings a Sold / Pending / Active status: create an “Offer Type” taxonomy field, pick a colour for each option, and Vehica prints it as a ribbon on every card — on the inventory, in vehicle grids and in the front-end panel.

2 minute read

Sold, Pending and Active are not fixed options in Vehica — you create them yourself. The recipe is a taxonomy field called Offer Type, a colour for each of its options, and the card setting that prints the chosen one as a ribbon.

  1. 1 Update Vehica to the newest version

Open Vehica Updater and click CHECK FOR NEW UPDATES.

Vehica Updater screen with a purchase code box and SAVE button, the CHECK FOR NEW UPDATES button highlighted, and a line confirming the latest version of Vehica Theme is installed.
  2. 2 Create an “Offer Type” taxonomy field

In Vehica Panel > Custom Fields, name the field Offer Type, set its type to Taxonomy and click ADD NEW FIELD.

Vehica Panel Custom Fields with three numbered arrows: 1 on the name box holding “Offer Type”, 2 on the field type select showing Taxonomy, 3 on the ADD NEW FIELD button.
  3. 3 Drag the field to the top of the list

New fields land at the bottom — grab the handle on the left of the row and move it up.

The bottom of the custom fields list — Drive Type, Transmission, Fuel Type, Mileage, Engine Size, Cylinders, Color, Doors, Features, Safety Features, VIN, Gallery, Video, Location — with Offer Type last and the drag cursor on its handle.
  4. 4 Edit the field The Custom Fields table after the drag: Offer Type is now the first row, above Condition and Body Type, with an arrow pointing at its EDIT button.
  5. 5 Clear “Allow multiple values”

A listing should carry one status at a time, so leave this checkbox unticked and save.

Offer Type field settings with the Allow multiple values checkbox cleared, above Fields dependency, Parent field and the SAVE CHANGES button.
  6. 6 Set the card label to “Offer Type”

In Basic Setup > Vehicle Cards, find the All Cards section and choose Offer Type in Featured Label (max 1 visible).

Basic Setup > Vehicle Cards with the All Cards section outlined; the Featured Label (max 1 visible) dropdown is open on Featured and Offer Type, above the SAVE ALL CHANGES button.
  7. 7 Open Vehicles > Offer Type

The new field has its own entry in the WordPress menu.

WordPress admin menu with Vehicles expanded, showing Offer Type in the submenu above Condition, Body Type, Make, Model and Drive Type.
  8. 8 Add your options

For example SOLD, ACTIVE and PENDING.

One label per card
The setting is Featured Label (max 1 visible) — a card shows a single label, so the Offer Type ribbon takes the place of the Featured one.

Give every option its own label colour

A. Sold — black background

Add New Offer Type form with Name set to SOLD, “Display as a label” ticked, a white Card Label Text Color and a black Card Label Background Color. The term list on the right is still empty.

B. Active — green background

Add New Offer Type form with Name set to ACTIVE, a white Card Label Text Color and a green Card Label Background Color; SOLD already appears in the term list on the right.

C. Pending — orange background

Add New Offer Type form with Name set to PENDING, “Display as a label” ticked, a white Card Label Text Color and an amber Card Label Background Color, above the Add New Offer Type button.

Where the label shows up

The status is now a normal field — sellers pick it from the front-end panel, for example:

The front-end Submit Vehicle form with the Offer Type dropdown open under Listing Title, offering ACTIVE, PENDING and SOLD, with SOLD highlighted.

And the label is drawn on the inventory:

Inventory list headed “13 Results”. The first card, “Test SOLD” at $4,444, carries a black SOLD corner ribbon; the card below shows a green ACTIVE ribbon.

You can also use the label on any Vehicle Grid — and filter the grid by it:

Elementor with the Vehica widgets panel open — Vehicle Search Form V1 and V2, Featured Vehicles, Vehicle Tabs Carousel, Vehicle Grid — and a Vehicle Grid widget dropped onto the page.
The Edit Vehicle Grid panel with SOLD typed into its Offer Type filter; the preview beside it shows one card, “Test SOLD” at $4,444, with a black SOLD ribbon.
