Enable Reviews on Your Single Ad Page with Listivo 2.3.39

Switch on the Listivo reviews module, decide who may review and how reviews are moderated, and place the Ad Reviews widget on your single ad template so visitors can rate and comment on listings.

2 minute read

We are thrilled to introduce the ability to enable reviews for your single ad page in Listivo 2.3.39. This new feature offers more interaction with your audience.

How to unlock this module

To activate this module, simply:

  • Enable it in the Listivo Panel under Settings > Reviews.
  • Add the "Ad Reviews" widget to your single listing page.

Configuring review options

Let's start by exploring the panel options. Navigate to Listivo Panel > Settings > Reviews, where you will see all available options. Allow Guests to Review lets anyone add a review to your website. In the following options you can set the minimum and maximum length for reviews, enable image uploads for each review, and enable voting on reviews (this adds an extra sorting option, "Most Helpful"). Once all settings are configured, save your options.

Guest reviews invite spam
Allowing guests to review is a common choice, but consider turning on moderation at the same time to protect your site against spam.
The Reviews tab of the Listivo Panel settings with Enabled ticked, plus checkboxes for Moderation, Allow Guests to Review, Images and Thumbs, and fields for Min Length, Max Length, Max Images (20) and Max Image Size (8 MB), above a Save Changes button.

Moderation

If you enable moderation, all reviews will appear in your backend with a 'Pending' status. You can then choose to Publish or Trash them.

The Reviews list in the WordPress admin, with the status filters All (24), Mine (21), Published (20), Pending (4) and Trash (1) above rows of submitted reviews and their scores.

Inserting the Ad Reviews widget into your single ad template

You can finally add the "Ad Reviews" widget to your Single Ad Template. Visit Listivo Panel > Templates > Ad Page to edit your current ad template.

The Templates screen in the Listivo Panel with the Ad Page tab open, listing the Carousel, Mosaic and Gallery templates with Edit and Duplicate buttons; Gallery is the selected one.

The template will open in Elementor. Search for the Ad Reviews widget and place it where you want.

The Elementor Elements panel with "Ad reviews" typed into the widget search box and a single Ad Reviews widget returned as the result.

Once added to your page, it will look as shown.

The Elementor preview of the widget on an ad page: a Show All Reviews button, a "Write a Review" form with the reviewer's avatar, a five-star rating, a text area and a Submit a Review button, with the widget's Content settings open on the left.

In the Style tab, you will find many options to customize its appearance.

The Style tab of the Edit Ad Reviews panel in Elementor, with the Review section expanded to show colour and typography controls for User Name, User Subheading, Star Rating and Text.

Notification management

If you enabled moderation and want to receive or send emails or SMS to users, navigate to Listivo Panel > Notifications > Add New Notification.

The Notifications screen of the Listivo Panel with the Add New Notification button beside the heading and a note explaining the limits of WordPress cron.

You will find three triggers to configure emails sent to you or to users.

The three review notification triggers listed in a dropdown: the review is pending review (for moderator), the review has been approved (for user), and the review has been declined (for user).
