Find the numeric ID of any Listivo taxonomy term - a Make, a Model, a City - by reading tag_ID from the term's edit URL in WordPress.

1 minute read

This article shows how to find a Taxonomy Term ID. It can be used to create a custom order of fields on dropdowns.

Let's find the "Audi" and "Ford" IDs.

  1. 1 Open Listings > Make The WordPress sidebar with the Listings menu open; a green arrow points at Make in the submenu, which also lists Listings, Add New Listing, Category, Contract Type, Recruiter Type, Job Level, Hours and Model.
  2. 2 Edit Audi

Hover over the term and click Edit.

The Make term list showing Alpha Boats, Audi and BMW; a green arrow points at the Edit link in the row actions under Audi.
  3. 3 Read the ID from the page address

You will see the id in the link of the page (tag_ID=VALUE). Here it is 289.

The Edit Make screen for the term Audi, with a green arrow pointing at the address bar, which reads taxonomy=listivo_945&tag_ID=289&post_type=listivo_listing.
  4. 4 Repeat for the other terms

    For Ford it is 378.

The same Edit Make screen, this time for the term Ford, with a green arrow pointing at tag_ID=378 in the address bar.
